Nepal has 155 tigers and the government is targeting to double the number within 10 years.

The primary aim of the conference was to raise money to save tigers’ living areas and protect them from poachers. In the last 10 years, over 1,000 animals have been killed in Asia alone.

Meanwhile, the National Tiger Conservation Committee led by the Prime Minister is holding its meeting in the afternoon on Friday, according to the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation.
Efforts in the conservation of tiger and future strategies will be discussed in the meeting.
Tigers face multiple threats. The poaching of the cats and their prey, combined with a striking loss of habitat, are the main reasons that led to the decline of their populations in the last decade.
