Kangel airport resumes operation

Kangel Airport in Solukhumbu resumed operation on Monday after a hiatus of seven months. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and Tara Air operated flights to the airport on the day. Airlines had stopped flying to the airport after Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) — the aviation sector regulator — failed to arrange technicians at the airport. CAAN has now deployed an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) at the airport. Both the airlines fly once a week to the airport from Kathmandu. Meanwhile, locals have expressed happiness after flights resumed at the airport.

Karki also said that the tourism entrepreneurs will coordinate among themselves to request two members to resign from the disputed board. Continue reading
