Kathmandu, June 24: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be closed for 10 hours each day starting November 8.
According to the TIA office, the airport must be closed to facilitate expansion works on the runway, taxiway, apron, and related infrastructure.
The airport office stated that, from November 8, TIA will be closed from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This closure will continue for five months.
The office notice states that from November 8 to March 31, the airport will operate for only 14 hours per day. Currently, TIA opens at 6:00 AM and operates until 2:00 AM.
As Kathmandu airport will be closed at night, airlines will need to revise their scheduled flight times.
